My Finance - Privacy Policy

Effective date: 25 September 2026 · App: My Finance (Android, package com.pfmd.app) · Developer: Bahar Uddin Raihan

In short: everything you enter in My Finance (income, expenses, debts, loans, investments, balances, your name) stays on your phone, in an encrypted database. We have no user accounts and no servers that receive your financial data. The only data that leaves your phone is (a) the encrypted backup copy that you choose to keep in a folder of your own (section 2a) and (b) what the Google AdMob advertising service collects to show ads (section 4). To delete your data, see section 7.

1. Who we are

My Finance is a personal finance app (income and expense tracking, debts and loans, cash and bank accounts, savings and investments, budgets and reminders). If you have any question about this policy, write to admin.myfinance@gmail.com.

2. Information stored on your device

To work, the app stores the following on your phone only. We do not receive, copy or see it.

DataWhy
Income, expense, budget, debt (payable), loan (receivable), investment, installment, cash/bank/wallet account and income-allocation records that you type inTo calculate your totals, net worth, reports and reminders
Profile: your name, optional contact and short bioTo greet you inside the app. It is never uploaded.
Settings: language, country, currency, themeTo show the app the way you chose
App lock: your PIN is stored only as a salted hash; the on/off switch for fingerprint/face unlockTo lock the app. Fingerprint/face data is handled by Android; the app never receives it.
Notification history (payment, collection and investment reminders)To show the reminders list

Protection: the database is encrypted (AES-256, SQLCipher). Its key is protected by the Android Keystore. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are configured to exclude the database and its key.

2a. Backup copy in a folder you choose

When you start the app you choose a folder (on your phone, or in a storage service such as Google Drive or OneDrive that appears in Android's file picker) and a backup password. The app then saves a copy of all your data there and refreshes it when your data changes. The copy is encrypted on your phone with your password (AES-256) before it is written, so the storage provider and other people cannot read it. We do not receive this copy and we cannot open it. If the folder is on a cloud service, that service (for example Google Drive) uploads and stores the file under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not know your password: if you forget it, the copy cannot be opened. You can choose another folder or a new password at any time in Data Backup / Export.

3. Permissions the app uses

The app does not ask for your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, files or SMS.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

My Finance is free and shows banner ads through Google AdMob. When you export a file, it may also offer one full-screen video ad, at most once a day, that you can skip. To serve and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and use, on our behalf and under Google's own policies: your advertising ID, IP address and approximate location derived from it, device and app information (for example device model, operating system, app version), crash and diagnostic information, and ad interactions (such as ad views and taps). This is used for showing ads, ad measurement, fraud prevention and (where allowed and where you have not opted out) ad personalisation.

5. Files you export

When you use Data Backup / Export, the app creates an Excel, PDF or JSON file on your phone and opens Android's share sheet. The file goes only to the app or person you choose. Exported files are not encrypted, so store and share them carefully.

6. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling or analytics.

7. How long data is kept and how to delete it

Your data stays on your phone until you delete entries in the app, uninstall the app or clear its storage (Android Settings → Apps → My Finance → Storage → Clear data). The backup copy in your chosen folder stays there until you delete it yourself from that storage. Because we do not hold your financial data on any server, we cannot recover it if you delete it or lose your phone - please export a backup from time to time. For advertising data held by Google, use your Google account's ad settings or Google's privacy tools.

8. Children

My Finance is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK GDPR, India's DPDP Act, Bangladesh law, or California law) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict personal data. We hold no personal data about you on our servers. For questions or requests, email admin.myfinance@gmail.com; for advertising data, contact Google.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, mention it in the app's update notes on Google Play.
